This looks pretty interesting. I'll have to go beg the wife if I can purchase it. I'll probably get it tomorrow night.

I'm pretty happy with this app, it's pretty much the EXACT thing I've been looking for for a very long time. It's very stable, as opposed to many of the other lock screen hacks I've tried.

There are still a couple minor things though. Every once in a while it opens to the normal lock screen, and then you see the widget locker. Also if you try to access something past the lock screen with some of the widgets, it goes back to the stock lock. Perhaps a popup warning or something for the second case would be good.

One thing that would be an AWESOME addon for this app would be to add a slider widget built in that would open two other apps (camera or phone for example) directly from the lock screen. Two apps would work because you could swipe in both directions.

Like I said though, really great app. Keep up the good work!

Can it be unlocked via a passcode?

Yes Maam! I just tested it. The widget lock pops up, and when you swipe to unlock, it goes to whatever lock (Pattern, number, password) that you choose.

That is a brilliant idea. I'll definitely work on that.

To clarify what dahctor said, if you are running Froyo and enable the standard Android passcode lock, then yes WidgetLocker will respect it and show the passcode screen as soon as you slide to unlock WidgetLocker.
If you are running Android 2.1, then there is not an existing passcode option and WidgetLocker does not add one. but it will support Android 2.1's standard pattern unlock.

OK, I am running stock 2.1 so there is not a number passcode option yet built into the app.

Umm you got yourself in trouble by requesting paid apps for free which this forum does NOT condone. Please go read your PM again. Are you asking for a vacation? If so just let keep it up :D

And to dispute your disgruntled attitute, this app is 5/5 stars or very close to it (especially because the dev is here working and interacting with issues). If you want to learn to make apps maybe you should google it instead of asking a hard working dev that you just dissed. BTW i'm reporting this post. Maybe the one that gave you the warning would rather give you a vacation considering this post. Have a nice day :D

Has anyone else tried this and if so, how does it work with LauncherPro? I currently have ExecutiveAssistant, and all though I love the app, it tends to FC on me a lot. Sometimes making my Droid unresponsive.

I'd like to try it, but I'm afraid to make the commitment since I already paid for ExecutiveAssistant.

    No problem.

If you want to get into development check https://developer.android.com . It'll take some effort though...

One of the reviews on the Market says it works with LauncherPro on a Droid. I haven't used LauncherPro myself but I don't anticipate any problems due to that.

Haha, that made me laugh. I emailed you a couple of suggestions for WidgetLocker, but I just thought of one more.

In the opening in the middle of the slider, can you make either something for ICE, battery percentage, or a 1x1 widget? Would that be possible?

The previous question just made me wonder, can you access any widget without unlocking the screen? For ICE that would be handy for a fireman, para-medic in an emergency.

edit: It does, thanks to a post by corinacakes.

this is kind of an old thread but I thought I'd try anyway -

I just purchased this app. I like it except for one thing - After my Droix X "locks", that is, I have to re-enter my pattern to unlock it, when WL is on, after I slide to unlock WL, it brings me to the regular Droid X lock screen and then to the "draw your unlock pattern" screen. So I have to go through 3 screens to unlock instead of 2. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?

right, so I can't use this app to replace just the "slide to unlock" screen unless I disable all the security. I can't have the widget locker slide to unlock screen and the regular Android pattern screen when the phone times out? I thought there was a checkbox in WL to use the Android pattern screen, but it doesn't seem to work. If I disable the Android security, will WL take over and give me that pattern screen after it times out?
