Hi everone. Newcomer idiot Droid question: What exactly is a widget. I noticed some add home screen buttons for apps I've copied to my home screen. Is there any difference?

been answered before but basically a widget is a 'running application' everytime you switch to your homescreen the widget draws down data/activates in real time.

shortcuts are well...shortcuts which then popopen the application.
