1. Use more coherent sentences.
2. Usb tethering isn't supported on the X.
3. Use more coherent sentences.
4. We'll help you figure it out as long as you can do #1 & #3.

Well Snow... not sure what you are talking about... seemed to the point to me without dragging it out ...

DROIDX doesn't support usb tethering ? Hmmmmm... since when ? Didn't have one bit of problem before the update on my DROIDX.....

another buddy is using identical phone with usb tethering & we thought we had the same programs and patches... only difference... he rolled his back to the earlier os

It does via pdanet, easy tether, etc. Just not via a native app like android usb tether.

But we're getting off track. If you'd describe exactly what you've done, we can tell where you're going wrong. But the process goes like this.

Flash the patch (only need to do this once, unless you've sbf'd).
Open wifi tether (beta 6 or 7).
Change profile to Droid X in settings.
Make sure wifi is off.
Start tethering.
Connect to the hotspot.

At no point do you need to be connected via usb.

Sometimes the computer may take a minute to start transferring data the first time you connect. Subsequent connections should be immediate.

Well if your computer has wireless you just have to search for networks. No usb required
