One thing I've noticed is that phones are still being released without battery percentage.

I don't understand why. I personally find it really annoying to not have one

You can get a custom ROM with it or you can get a widget, such as Circle Battery Widget.

Well yea I know, I'm on cm7 right now, and I know about Widgets, I just wonder why we still don't have them stock.

It's so they can decrease the battery polling interval to increase battery life. Do you really need to know when your battery life drops 1%?

Its nice to know. That way, you have an idea how low your battery is. From 20%, to 5% sucks when you're stock.

That's why you get 5% increments once you hit 20% ;)

No, you get a warning at 15%, but the battery level stays at 20% unless you use a widget. Then you get to 10%. After 10%, it goes to 5% increments.

Check your about phone battery %. It does indeed say 15%. You must be talking about the battery icon.

You can mod the battery icon to reflect the actual metered %. I have a compiled xml to do so if you want it. You can drop it right in your framework-res and zip it back up.

It's not an issue for me anymore since I run CM7. I have 1% battery increments.

My DInc2 has a widget that you can choose that shows the percentage. You just have to go in the personalize menu under widgets, and choose the browse for more widgets option. its there.

I wonder why people expect their personal preference to dictate what is or isn't stock.

I never said I expected it to be stock, I'm just wondering why it isn't when a good number of people like to know
