The thunderbolt is a fraud! No netflix, no gingerbread in sight, battery sucks. It's a pretty fast phone though, i'll give that up. It's a new phone so why delay things like these to it. We have older phones out there running gingerbread and the newer TB is not. I know its HTC that needs to push it but why is Android like this?

It's a combination. Numerous versions of Android coupled with multiple hardware profiles makes developers work harder to get their app working on all phones. When phone manufactures customize Android so their version (HTC Sense) looks different than someone else's version (Motorola's Blurr) then they need to reskin and test everything when a new Android version comes out. They could just leave plain ole vanilla android in place to make upgrades easier on themselves and concentrate on hardware features instead (better batteries, built in screen projectors, etc). But they don't always do that. The only thing really not at fault here is Android.

Yes ur right there r older phones with Gingerbread but think about it how long did it take them to receive Ginger, TB has been out 4 what 4 months or so and it's already in the works for the update it's a matter of time question is can u wait 2 more weeks or so.

I am running Gingerbread, sense 3.0, I have Netflix, and my Battery lasts all day. If you're not going to hack your Android and flash roms, then you're better off with an IPhone

Please don't do another post like this. It's antagonistic and not in the spirit of this forum.

    And incredibly lame.

And for the millionth time...you should not have to jump through any of these hoops in order for a phone any phone to function properly or give you decent battery life

Got tired of waiting for the update.... Rooted on Sunday, running Bamf sense 3.0 now and loving it. Battery lasting 10-14 hours now. It's not really hard to do, kicking myself for not doing it earlier.

You have every right to be upset. Yes you can fix every complain you have by rooting but you should not have to. HTC did a bad job with the thunderbolt infact they actually put more work into and put out a more polished incredible 2. I am disappointed in HTC because if devs are able to figure it out then they with all their resources should have put out a better device. As a customer you have every right to demand better. If it was just on issue, ie battery then you would be able to get deal with that. But issue after issue, as a customer I understand the feeling of getting a lemon for a phone. Personally I am rooted and thanks to the dev many of my issues are fixed, but I nor any customer should not have to root to fix simple things that the oem should have fixed out of the box.
