Still waiting on instructions to fix this... hasn't anyone but xuedoxus gotten this yet!???
Yeah.... I just tried out Steel Beast theme but the transparency even on that did not work on Froyo BB
Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly do you want to do?
The opacity effect in 2.2 is not the same as all previous versions... The notification pulldown background "status_bar_background" only shows up solid in all 2.2 ROMS so far... we can only assume its an XML edit... and i've only seen xuedoxus have success with transparency so far...
even if you create a .png in photoshop as transparent, it will show up solid when you push the framework-res...
Ahh, I see now - never noticed. A challenge! I'll post back when I figure out the edit (I'm running my own custom framework-res.apk and services.jar - it's probably in services.jar).
awesome good luck! And although it sounds like i may have working knowledge of things like this, I don't. HA!! so if you DO happen to figure out the fix for 2.2, I am no XML whiz,
... so basically what i'm asking... is newb instructions would be fantastic! dancedroid
i do have HxD and hex editing tools, so i'm that far... just have no clue how to use them!
It's in framework-res.apk, and it's just an update to that png file, unless something changed radically with 2.2
You should be able to apply a metamorph theme without any issues.
EDIT: The previous statement is an outright fabrication...
Nope. something HAS changed radically cause i've created a .png with ZERO opactiy and replaced the status_bar_background.png in my framework, pushed it back and it was solid.
Just edit the xml right? This is the second thread i have seen like this.
Ahh, suck. That's what I get for assuming. *open mouth, insert foot*
I just tried it anyway with one of my modified Green-Droid notification background themes. The image DEFINITELY applied correctly, because I can see the droid head, now - but the opacity is still full black. It's like it's just ignoring the transparency of the png - or perhaps there's a solid background behind the png.
On the plus side - they did fix an alignment issue! Previously, if you tried to align an image with the bottom of the dropdown, it would also show up behind the notification items. Now it's pixel-perfect! I'll post a screenshot...
