WHy does the Rezound have two names?

Why is the Rezound also called the Vigor?
I know most phones have a manufacturer name, and a carrier name. Like my old phone was the LG Vx 11000, aka the EnV Touch.
LG called it the VX 11000, but verizon called it the EnV touch.

So, is it the same with the Rezound?

rezound is it's release name...
Vigor is the build name... all smart phones I believe ate this way...
Like the nexus Cdma is the toro... Gsm is mango...
The dx is the Cdma shadow
