Because apparently many people experience a lot. Such as myself. See the many threads

I wasn't trying to be cocky. I'm serious. What is the culprit so I know what to avoid?

It's not just Helix 2, it's pretty much all launchers/home replacements with the 3d app drawer. Just not worth it to me, but more power to ya if you don't have any lag.

Wait till you see the Launcher 2 I've got planned for V1.1, no lag at all, extremely smooth switching between homescreens :)

I run UDNE rom but I tossed in the Cyanogen launcher2 because of the 5 icons across... its really doesnt lag much at all, its super smooth for me.

I'm using Helix 2 and have no lag at all. It's very quick and responsive. Although i'll always welcome an upgraded version if Pete comes out with it.

I too have NO lag that I can see AT ALL with Helix2 running on BBv1.0. I can't wait to see what's faster than this..

I'm actually going to be playing around with a bunch of Home apps today (I don't have much responsibility at work :D). Got the idea from the Home launcher thread. I'm going to see which I like best. Can't wait for Pete's version though.

Lags I experience with non-Home launchers have to do with launching apps (particularly dialer) rather than intra-screen transitions, which are always fast. Sometime returning to the home screen on hitting the home button can lag a bit too. I'm talking about Helix1, mostly.

I don't see how anyone can experience lag with this new ROM. But then again....I'm a noob.

I didn't see any "lag" per se with Helix 2... I just don't like it as much as Helix 1. The app drawer in Helix 1 (and other 2.0-based launchers) can be "flung" to one end or the other, and continues to scroll and slow down when you let go. It's a nice effect that I got used to. Helix 2 (and other 3D launchers) stop scrolling as soon as you let go, so you have to scroll exactly to where you want it.
