Why do my home icons take a while to show up

Seems like after that last ota update...whenever I go to my home screen the icons take forever to show up...well about 4seconds...but that way to long....can this be fixed?

I have the same problem. I have a droid 1 not rooted. It's driving me crazy Seems to only happen Coming of the car dock Or coming of web sites that have a lot of information.

Do either of you have a task killer or launcher installed? If so, remove and see if that rectifies the slowness.

I am running 2.2 and am on version frg22d. I have no task killer and no launcher but stock. Wondering if rooting and overclocking is the only fix?

Still no luck...this makes me want to get something other than an android based phone now. This phone sucks now

If you don't want to overclock, it's an easy fix once you're rooted.

Ok so I finally went ahead and rooted...and....well...my phone kicks ass now...I love it all over again...heh...thanks to this killer forum

I would really recommend Launcher Pro as well. It sped my D1 up a lot, and it has some really cool customization to it.
