The SD card argument is kinda null. KK prevents access to the SD card anyway.

In what way does kk prevent access to the SD card
That's a primary feature. Writing or reading from the SD card is removed.

Ah, but items can be added, saved and moved to the SD card which is mostly what I care about. I do see your point though
kmf1 ... Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have a Droid Maxx coming from a RAZR. I've been trying to partition cache since I got this phone a month ago. I searched everywhere for instructions on my particular setup and all I could get was the same way I did it with the RAZR (which obviously didn't work). UNTIL YOUR POST! Followed your instructions and bam! 1 minute later all is well.
The only thing I don't like is that there isn't a progress bar while it's clearing the cache, but I'm taking your word for it that it is actually doing that. Change is good, right? :icon_rolleyes:
I used to do this weekly, but I see differing opinions in different forums about that. I can't remember exactly what issue I was having a year ago or so, but someone advised clearing the cache and it worked. So I've been doing it weekly since then (also advised by the same person).
What are your thoughts on this?
@RzrGrl...I don't know that it is necessary to do a Cache Partition clean once a week, but I usually do. I don't believe that it hurts anything to do so, so why not. Now that 4.4.2 is out for our phones, the process is more widely published, but it is the same for the Moto X. (That's how I figured out how to do it.) Thanks for your response.
I personally only wipe the cache when the phone begins to show signs of lag. On JB that was once a day. On KitKat I've only done it twice since taking the OTA. I also find that powering the phone off and back on daily helps.

thanks for the feedback guys. Now that I think of it, I was on JB when I had that issue and partitioning the cash worked. Even though I'm on KitKat now, might as well continue the tradition and run it weekly. I agree, doesn't hurt anything so why not. I also think rebooting daily is a good idea (same goes for my computer). Gotta keep my phone running "lean & clean".
thanks again...droid forums never lets me down
Well, I have to say that KK has given my RMHD sucko bat life. Won't even survive the night without being plugged in. Never had that issue on JB!
