So far this has been easy. I thought we'd be having a lot of hostility but so far it hasn't been bad.

Days not over yet though. :D

Make no mistake, I have read ALL of your posts in this section. My statement wasn't made on one post alone.

There is a difference. Neither you nor I run this site. They can do as they please, and since we have zero authority their suggestion is correct: if you don't like it, ignore it. Otherwise, you're just trolling...

Well I don't know what to tell you other than you've misinterpreted my intentions.

OP I want an iPhone as a backup. So this is great for me.... well as soon as the CDMA models start flooding eBay.

I will take some action on that. I say three more hours and this thread gets closed.
Its sad that I have to say that but for some reason people here can't always have a civil disagreement. Then things blow up, people start calling each other out and that's when stuff get out of hand.
We are for the most part, adults so please act accordingly. Thanks.

I for one think its great that verizon finally has the iPhone. It will strengthen the company by giving people another choice of phone. I just hope it does not strain Verizons 3g network like it did At&T's.

    ^ Buried.
I either need to stop tweaking my D1 so much or get an iPhone as a backup. I can't go 2 weeks without switching/upgrading roms & one day I'm going to need a phone that just works so the iPhone would be able to fulfill the later role quite nicely.

I understand that feeling. I just loaded a new, well, improved ROM on the Incredible today. Really made some nice differences. Now I'll be going back and tweaking my settings and cleaning it out again.

Its like they are mismatched. Apple has the hardware down but there os is closed and just plain. Android is innovative and open but they dont always have the hardware to take full advantage of the capabilities of the o.s.

Very true. That is the weak link for Android. If and when they fix that link, they really will be a powerhouse.

Why do so many people say you have to tweak Android to be able to use it? My sisters and stepmom all just got Android phones on Sprint and they love them. I don't see why anyone thinks Android is any harder to use than iOS. Just kinda baffles me.

Well, in the case of the Incredible, to get any kind of decent battery life, you honestly MUST root it and install a custom ROM. That was the only way to get good life out of it. And there are quite a few Incredible users that will back that up. So in this case yes, it had to be tweaked.
