Why are my Droids only getting "1x" data connection?

I noticed starting sometime yesterday that I'm rarely getting 3G connections on my DX or my wife's OG Droid1. Also, when on my home wifi the wifi strength is very poor unless I'm directly next to the router. None of the other wifi technology in my house is detecting weak wifi strengths. This all happened a day or two ago with no changes to my devices on my end. I've tried updating the cell towers (*228) but it hasn't helped. Thanks.

Verizon cant throttle a wifi signal. So that wont be it.

Throttling would still show full bars if applicable..

try deleting your twitter and facebook accts from the phone. improved my 3g connect 150%.

settings> accounts> tap twitter/facebook acct and click remove> restart phone.

those accts are constantly syncing to keep u up to date on what ur friends ate for lunch.

Wouldn't they just lower your speed? I wouldn't think they would cut you off from the 3G network.

Question to the OP are you running custom ROMs?

No custom ROM. Im on stock rooted GB.
