Actually Metamorph will do .xml edits. I use it for the progress bar and misc framework edits. Just FYI. BTW....this is turning out AWESOME! kudoos to everyone.

Yes you can replace xmls with MM but when you are doing a edit to anything in the values folder that get complied into the resources.arsc file. I usually don't have good luck MM that file.

Values along with the smali stuff goes into the resource.arsc file. I don't think that file is going to change your background.

I have a hunch that the image is not in this app, if you will go to Gmail, then go to the labels view, it has the same shadows at the top and bottom...

It may be in FW???
