Simple question which roms have you had the best battery life with?
The ones on phones that aren't turned on.
The ROM is irrelevant. What matters in mostly order
1. Time the screen is on
2. Time the transceivers are on (WiFi, CDMA, Bluetooth) and the GPS receiver
3. Applications consuming CPU power.
And the settings of any overclocking.
That's a common misconception. With on-demand performance the maximum clocking rate of the CPU is largely not a factor.
With performance... it's a bit of a factor but not as big as apps actually WANTING and USING the CPU.
This is easy to verify. Run the same tests... with different clockings. Watch for BATTERY usage. Yes, the CPU runs faster and hotter but it runs LESS TIME. It's all up to the Apps to use up the CPU power and therefore power...
Since the settings for ONDEMAND are controlled by the overclocking app I stand by my original statement. If they are configured correctly you are correct. If you sample too frequently you can actually slow down the performance and drive up the usage.
The question that must be asked is, which battery has the best ROM life?
2.1 update 1 stock, went from a 1/2 day max with droid mod, to 70% at the end the day with stock 2.1
