I prefer zombiestomped for speed and long battery life on my phone personally. Every phone is different so I would suggest trying all that interest you then pick your own favorite.

Is it mainly blur or blurless?

Its blur with tweaks and bloat gone. Honestly runs better than the best blurless 340 rom. I tried apex and liberty but with the same old aosp apps as on 340 I felt like I was just running an old rom with the same green icons and crap. Zombie actually feels new.

I'd use it if I actually liked the themes. Can't stand them.

If you're desperate for AOSP-esque Gingerbread like I am, I highly recommend Apex 2.0 Beta. Outstanding job by Fabolous.

    AOSP =android open source project
Blur is motorola's "rom " for lack of a better word. It includes a launcher
Blurless is a rom that has been stripped of blur and usually is using aosp built apps. Personally, i like blurless, but im still on froyo and its really personal preference.

    Yep, both are extremely fast.

And when you overclock, its obviously even faster.
I have tried several ROMS, but always go back to one of these.

    Even Liberty 1.5 is great.

I really like liberty for the scripts that are built in to it in the liberty toolbox, just makes things easier, but I think I might try out ZombieStomped, and I really wanna try the new Apex, especially since apex RC2 got me to love Tinkering with my phone.

    Yea, same here,

Do you know if they ever fixed the brightness of the hard keys? I know there was an app in the market but It never really worked Correctly. That is why I went back to Froyo

edit: because what I previously wrote made absolutely no sense...

I just recently upgraded to GB .595 an the first thing I did was flash over to ZS 1.7. SO far I'm impressed, it does feel like a whole experience with my X. want to try the next Liberty that comes out for GB.595 see which I like better, but so far i'm loving ZS 1.7.

I'm on ZS 1.7, and LOVE it!!

I tried Liberty V.5 and had WAY to many issues!! it was a difficult upgrade, it cost me 5 bux and it still sux......

I couldn't get it to quit random rebooting.

The only issue i ever had with ZS1.5 is the governor deal...which you'll see a lot of people did. I took that off, no issues since. I love it! And even the themes rock!

Well if your still on Froyo I'd say ruBiX 2.0.1 which is what i was using before I upgraded to GB .595, on that platform I'd say ZombieStomped 1.7 is solid and stable for use.

Just switched to ZS 1.7 from Liberty 2.0....both are top notch....big fan of both devs.....you really can't go wrong with either.....been on Apex,Darkslide,Rubix, Tranquility as well....all good but Liberty and ZombieStomped are hands down the best in my eyes.
