I will have a travel to the USA. I want to buy a Droid 3. Whether XT862 will be locked if I buy it directly in AmazonWireless?
Can I insert a foreign SIM card simplily in the cell phone and use it? If yes, I want to order one and make it sent to my friend, and I'll get it from my friend. If not, how can I unlock it or get unlock code for it?
BTW, in my country, there are no Verizon services.

The SIM slot will be locked if you buy it off contract directly from Verizon.

As Nerdslogic said, there are some online vendors that sell SIM unlock codes. Some of them are starting to get codes for the Droid 3.
