Where is My App Menu and Why Can I No Longer Put Apps in the Status Bar?

I got my Droid A855 phone about 2 weeks ago. I had the App menu on the bottom of my screen that I could drag up for installed apps. I also was able to put apps on the status bar. I no longer can do this? Is this part of the upgrade to 2.2? Another reason?

are you running any other home screen launchers?

I have to ask... did you try tapping the home button instead of swiping it up? My wife was getting annoyed at this the other day. I tapped it and there it was in all it's glory.

Just tap the checkerboard in the middle to get pretty much what your old app drawer did.
