I got a notification that I have an update available and have not installed it. I'd like to copy it to my PC because I am anal about these things. No other reason.

So where is the darned thing? I could not find it on my sd card. I did not use SDK Tools to look...just a simple USB mount of the sd card. It's hidden if it is on that card. Before mounting through SDK Tools I thought I would seek some guidence first. Anyone know where to find the file so I can copy it?

Aha...So here I go reading things that don't exist again. The notification says an update is available and the button I thought said Install Now, says Download Now. The file is not there yet. That explains why I can't find it.

    Sorry for wasting the bandwidth.

On my Droid, it is telling me that the update has been "Downloaded and Verified -- 15.0 MB." (This is on the System Updates menu that you get to from the Settings menu from the Home Screen.)

So what's the trick? Where is this elusive update.zip file hidden?

Like the OP, I want to store the update.zip on my PC, so I can have a trusted copy of the 2.1 update (which I will use to return to the OTA 2.1, if I ever decide to root my Droid.)

Thanks for any help you can provide in finding this file.

(EDIT: I've used AndroZip and my PC to try and find the file. AndroZip is set to "show hidden files.")

Sounds like what I thought I read this morning. I bet the notification says what you typed but if you go to setting..about phone...check for updates it will tell you you need to download it. I bet the file is not there. But I'm not a betting man so never mind. LOL
