Tried out the sound recorder app and i cant figure out where the sound files are put after selecting "use this file".

Is doc to go and quick office pretty much the same thing in terms of functionality?

The 'Sound Recorder' app is what the 'Messaging' app uses when you choose to 'Record Audio' from within the 'Messaging' app and I have no clue why developers choose to have it visible in the launcher tray.

First off, the 'Sound Recorder' app records it's audio as adaptive-multirate files (hence file extension). If anyone can find an app for the Droid that can play these, PLEASE let me know. And please, sending it to yourself and listening to it that way doesn't count ;-)

Secondly, someone might see this in the tray and think to themselves that they have no need for it and then uninstall it. Then that same person comes back here to the forums and asks "Pete, help me! 'Messaging' keeps force closing when i try to send my girl this message". This could be a nightmare for someone to figure out because it's not very intuitive.

Bottom line is that without a way to listen to your recordings and needing it for 'Messaging', the app is just a not so pretty icon taking up real estate in the launcher.
