When does the speaker above the rear camera work?

Ok guys so I' m new to the Bionic. One day.. Just a quick question. When does the speaker above the camera lens on the rear of the phone suppose to work? Can't seem to figure this out. Thanks?

Yeah I would like to know that answer also but I am not 100% sure that it is a speaker.

Supposedly it's a noise cancellation mic, not a speaker.

I agree it does seem odd since it looks like a speaker and not a normal noise cancellation mic, but it doesn't produce any sound.

Are you sure your not talking about the Mic that is right next to the camera. I read that the Bionic had 3 mics and if that is the case then no, the speaker is not a mic since there are 2 at the bottom of the phone and one at the top.

If you ask me, it sure the hell looks like a speaker. Right above the rear camera lens.. It has the same grid and look as the main speaker on the bottom. I know about the cancellation mic next to it. A small hole..
