When are you gonna root your Thunderbolt

I'm actually not in the market for a Thunderbolt, but if I were, I'd root it straight out of the box.

I would wait till I near the middle or end of my 2 year contract. Android is so flexable and customizable I really don't see a pressing need to root except of corse for wifi tether but I seldom use that feature on my OG Droid anyways.

Internet connectivity always drops in my townhouse, and I've had to use wireless tethering several times in the past two weeks. It's been a godsend.

I plan on rooting it right away, but mainly to just use apps that will require root permissions, like wireless tether and cache cleaner, and to possibly overclock it a bit. I'm in no hurry to Rom it really. Down the road I may Rom it, depending on what's available.
