I was hoping/expecting them to do so today, but they didn't announce the tablet 8.9 either, as far as I can tell... Is there still slithery day or two at IFA, or am I just a dreamer?

historically, Google has been the one to announce the next Nexus devices, not the OEM. i wouldn't expect to see anything announced by Sammy. Google has some shindig going on in Oct, and we could hear an announcement then.

Hopefully that'll be a RELEASE announcement, unless VZW wants to make it... Either way unless its just not ready yet, I think its a stupid idea to wait until the iPhone comes out...

i'm guessing we'll start to see more leaks about the device during the coming weeks (leading up to the iP5), and then an official announcement from Google in Oct, followed by a release in Oct/Nov (more likely Nov, imo).
