I used to go around 800-900 but since many devs stopped with the 10-slot kernels I've gone to 1000 for now. Seams the 10-slots are finally coming back so they may change. I honestly don't see that much difference between 800 and 1000 (in actual use, i.e. outside of benchmark scores) so I prefer the extra slots.

The 10-slot 'scare' is a bunch of BS... Don't know why Taz started it but there's yet to be any actual evidence (i.e. proof via code or example) that there is any real cause for concern. Chevy and many others have since resumed making and using the 10-slots and there has yet, to my knowledge been any report of damage from anyone running them. According to his posts/threads (unless he's changed it) Chevy never stopped running a 10-slot on his phone. Sadly his kernels don't (or at least didn't) play well with my phone so I have to wait for AdamZ to resume 10-slots.

It's weird I can only clock to 1200 if I use the 10 slot Chevy kernal, my droid will only accept that kernal for 1200 otherwise I have to either goto a 1100 10 slot Chevy or 1000 from anyone.

    Weird stuff.

Have you tried AdamZ kernel(s) yet? Might be worth a shot. Some devices work better with them, I really like the rom.tqz format because it makes it super easy/quick to go to a new kernel:

Interesting that 1000 is the major preference. Obviously something psychological like DOW 10,000 :)

Along with the fact that being able to OC to 1100 or 1200 makes 1000 seem safe being more of a median choice.

I think that's what it is, just being a safe, median choice.

Truth be told, since I've been running Pete's ESE53 ROM, I haven't really felt the need to OC since it's so damn fast stock now. But when I do OC, I go to 1000.

I'm at 1100 and have never had an issue with stability or heat. I am running one of AdamZs kernels...I love everything he does...

chevys 5-slot 1.2 is what im using

running at 1200mhz all the time with profiles.

i have yet to see it jump over 45 degrees Celsius.

Smooth as can be and running it with simply stunning 2.0.3

Battery life is just as long as my stock was, about a day and 1/2

    hope this helps :)

I'm running 1ghz and the phone gets plenty hot I will keep it there since everyone seems to be doing 1.2 just fine I'll just deal with my phone feeling like its going to melt after running robo defense for 1hr. I also run the phone at 800mhz while charging for 2 reasons one charging causes some heat to the battery and 2 there is a very good chance that I will be using Nav and last.fm or pandora while charging so I'm playing it safe.

i've always used 800 or 850, but with the desire rom i have to use 950 and its great. this 950 is running cooler than 800 on 2.1 anyway, so i'm confused

I run anywhere from 600 to 1000mhz. i am on AdamZ Smoked Glass v6.0 (2.1/ese53) and it's actually pretty quick at 600mhz, but i bump it up to 1000mhz when browsing the web and stuff.

Running 1000mhz low voltage (adamz kernel). Flawless so far but that's the limit for me.

I run at 1 GHz (AdamZ LV kernel), mainly for heat and battery life reasons. I have stress tested stable at 1.2 GHz, and I could possibly go higher than that, but haven't tested. I ran at 1.1 GHz for a few days, but was too much heat for me (temps went into the 40s too often).

My main SetCPU Profile is 250/1000 OnDemand (Magical 1000 MHz)
-Charging 250/600 OnDemand (trying to keep this temp down)
-Sleep 250/600 Conservative (had it set lower, but seeing if this will fix "sleep no wake" issue
-Power <16% 250/800 OnDemand (when low battery notification pops up)
    -Failsafe >40*C 250/600 OnDemand (I don't think I have hit this yet)

In Advanced Settings, my Up Threshold is 75%, and Powersave Bias is at 30. Does anyone know what the "Ignore Nice Load (0 False / 1 True)" is? I am currently at default, which is 0.

I almost never see CPU temps higher than mid 30s, and am usually in the 20s (Celsius).

I think I discovered a bug in TempMonitor: I have seen reported temps as low as 11*C after waking the Phone, when ambient temps are about 20*C. This happens often.

I ran Adamz medium voltage at 1.2 for awhile and then ran Chevy's 1.0 for a few weeks. Decided to see how my chip would take Chevy's 1.25 and it has been running strong all day. Currently stress testing for stability. For some reason I have always had good luck with processors... whether it be phones or computers. :icon_ banana:
