Lamb of God
Hatebreed
DevilDriver
In Flames
Winds of Plague
One Brick Down (tribal metal, different but really good)
Demon Hunter (very solid christian metal)
Mushroomhead

Mega surprised to see no one mentioned Chimaira. Probably right up there as one of the best in my eyes.

I like the old school metal too but these bands are mostly what I listen to.
