What's up with the headphone jack?

On the MotoDroid what is up with the headphone jack? I plugged in an audio cable to play over some speakers and every time I touched the screen it flipped out! When I touched on-screen buttons they wouldn't work, if I hit the Back or Menu button the phone did nothing? I unplugged the cable and all worked well...

could probably be your unit, might wanna keep testing it after a reboot

It might be something similar to using a cheap charger on the Droid where it starts to go crazy because of the improper charge. Does it happen with headphones too?
