Anyone know what set them off? They've gotten pretty much every dev teams site closed down in the past day....

my theory is that there is mounting negative sentiment against them and how they treat private development so rather than give us what they want they're trying to cut it off at the head. that may be my conspiracy theorist side showing through though.

Guess they don't see that it gives them a reason to fight back.... I know I for one will just try even harder because of it. Pisses me off that they're using a platform that's promoted as "open" then they close it down. To a certain degree I can understand closing but let it be up to the end user.....

I can't imagine that moto is too happy about the Droid 2 and Droid X gingerbread leaks today either.

Could be worse, AT&t blocks 3rd party apps on their Droid phones (unless you use the sideloader).

now are we sure that all f those things were directly related to moto's actions? i know it would have to be one hell of a coincidence, just wondering.

Actually spaz, I'm in complete agreement with you. I never trusted Motorola, and this latest round of nonsense only reinforces my suspicions that they're out to put an end to rooting of android phones.

My latest phones was an HTC Inspire, which BTW was a *bear* to root. :)

were they using proprietary files, if so moto will more and likely go after them.
