I just thought I'd see what everyone was doing with the OTA supposedly coming out this week. I am torn as I am not sure anyone will be able to root stock 2.2 just as they couldn't with 2.1. However, I haven't been able to find one truly clean ROM for 2.2 currently.

    What is everyone else thinking???

I will not be going back to stock anything, because its simple enough to get the regular ota 2.2 update as a clean untouched rom with root access. I truly see no benefit of using the stock ota 2.2 unrooted version

I think that if you rooted and upgraded to Froyo and you are not running a custom rom, you will be able to upgrade to the OTA version. This is why I don't run a custom ROM (well, one of the reasons).

This is what I've been told I guess I won't know for certain until it happens. But I believe the person that told me that so we will see.

No, I won't. I'm going to accept the update if it lets me and see if my Droid explodes right in front of me. :icon_eek::icon_eek:

The thing that sucks is I am fairly sure they are not going to update the Droids this week.
There has been nothing from either Verizon nor Moto on it coming this week other than rumors.

I can only hope soon though.

The source of the rumor has been pretty accurate before. But as pointed out I'm just not hearing anything.... Not even from that source.

We will see. BTW the forum is currently setting a record for the amount of people on it at one time. Think this might have something to do with it?

It could be alot of people are interested in FroYo. I know I am. dancedroid

As for the source it would be great if they were right this time too but so far nothing. Not even a rumor of an update notification yet. Usually something happens by now.

Before i had root( i was too scared to do it) i was going to wait but now that im rooted i see no upside to going back stock. There is too much help for us in this community it would suffice to say any problem ran into will be fixed.
Props to all your great. dancedroid
