Spend some time reading up on the person who said that 640K is more than anyone would every need. Same concept

Came to say this very thing :)

Seriously though, think about it logically for a bit:
1. Improved CPUs will enable better/more complex apps down the line
2. Everything loads instantly? Really?? A lot of non-gaming apps lag still
3. If you don't game, doesn't mean others don't. It's a HUGE market as 14-25 year olds are the prime audience for both smartphones and games.
4. New multi-core CPUs make multitasking very noticeably better. I remember switching from a single-core athlon to a core 2 duo and being blow away by how much adding a core improved the performance vs just increasing the clock speed...

It's significant, but I don't know about "huge", maybe 10-15%. Most highschool/college kids can't afford these phones unless mommy and daddy want to shell out $1000 bucks a year for them. That's a lot of beer money for a college kid.

It's an important segment in the sense that as these people grow up and have more disposable income you hope you've created some brand loyalty. It's not something to be ignored certainly, but a focus on the enterprise market would serve them better.

PC's have never been "toys", and smartphones are basically becoming computers. Sure, PC's due try to have gaming capability, and there are specialized gaming PC's, but it's never been a primary/main focus for the mass market PC.
