Didn't get it yet. *puzzled* When I first saw posts here about the update I had decided against allowing it because I was nervous about foxfi not working. I find out that there will be no foxfi issues so when I go to settings to manually update and I keep getting a message saying 'system unavailable'. Did anyone *not* get the update???

Had some time with it now and I'm noticing that my signal at work isn't as good as it was b4 the update it will go from 4g to 3g to no signal within a couple of minutes. I also have rebooted more than I used to plus my battery life isn't as good (probably cause of the strain of trying to find a signal) so far phone has gone backwards with the update in my opinion (starting to remind me of my nexus)

I had those same problems before the update when I was using FoxFi app. Since the update I've not lost signal once.

Have you tried clearing the phone's cache yet? If not, try that and then try to download update again.

Found this somewhere on the net in another forum and have it saved. To delete the cache partition:

1. Turn off phone

2. Hold volume up key and home key

3. Still holding those keys now press and hold power till you see the green android then release all buttons.

4. Use the volume up and down to highlight the option you want and the power button to select it.

Options when in system recovery:

1. reboot system now
2. apply update from ADB
3. apply update from external storage
4. wipe data/factory reset
5. wipe cache partition
6. apply update from cache

Choose option #5- this will not delete any data, it just removes left over junk files from the Android OS. I have wiped this cache on my Android phones on a regular basis for the last couple of years. Choosing the incorrect option above, as in #4, will put phone back to factory defaults, so do this at your own risk and/or back everything up first if you're unsure what to do. After the cache is cleared, choose reboot system now and your phone will boot up normally.

Thank you for responding! I tried your suggestion and I'm still getting the service unavailable message so does that mean that Verizon hasn't push the update to PA yet or do you think there's something wrong with my phone?

I'd call Verizon, and ask if everyone should have received it.

You're welcome! I waited forever for Gingerbread on my Thunderbolt, so I know it's frustrating.

Success!!! Turns out it's a SIM card issue, mine isn't connecting to their server so they are going to send me another one next day air.

When I switched from the RAZR MAXX to Samsung Note 2 I put the SIM card from the MAXX into this phone. It works perfectly fine with the exception of getting updates.

I will update this thread once I receive the new SIM card to see if that truly solves the problem. Thanks again for your help!

A new sim card solved the problem! It's downloading the new update as I type.
