The phone continues its landslide to Oblivion. The phone with so much hype this past spring can't even get any kind of love.

We're talking about a phone and a company with so much promise and the 360 camera being a step in a different direction for accessory makers. And now they can't even give the phones away.

So what would it take to get you to buy the essential Ph-1/camera combo?

    To quote RoboCop^.

In all seriousness the most I would pay is about $100-$150. A device that I'm not confident that the company will still be around next year I feel will not get supported much longer. So the device would basically be a ROMing phone. And since I ROM once every blue moon now I'm not going to spend more than 100 on a phone just to play with ROMs. Especially since my Pixel 2XL is my dd.

I think the $400 price yesterday was a solid one BUT cameras being so important nowadays it's the review that keeps doubts in people's minds...I keep reading it's improved some with updates but not enough yet ...build and other things seem to be good ..

Given the real case scenario that people moved on and decided to look elsewhere (ie like yourself and I), what would it take for people like us to buy?

Also taking into account that this will be viewed as a colossal failure for essential that could end the venture (aka lack of support).

I'll admit that the Essential was the phone format I really wanted. A smaller frame phone with maximum utilized screen space. But the early camera reviews killed it for me. That and I wasn't sure I wanted to head into a "red-headed" step-child scenario in terms of after-market support either.

I do like that physically it is the same size as my Turbo. Looks great. Camera only has me a little concerned. I do need to rotate the pics. No cases is a deal breaker.

Which one of you guys said Amazon fire phone yesterday?

Yup I'm starting to get the feeling even more now. And would like to change my position to go $50. $50 and that's my final offer.
