What to do with moto DROID 1??

    So I upgraded to my dx2 but I still have my old d1 I've never rooted or messed with it but id like to. Any how to guides you guys can refer me to?

    Easiest way to root is going to www.*********** and searching for z4root .apk (keep the space in there) download it, use astro file manager to install it from the sdcard, then run it and Viola, you are now rooted

    I'd also suggest downloading rom manager from the market after you've rooted to be able to flash custom roms (I'd suggest simply stunning by Chevyno1 under the Droid hacking chevyno1 thread)

    Sounds great except z4root doesn't work on D1's that are updated to the newest OS version.

    You need to use SuperOneClick or the first link in my signature to root.

    If you have trouble with SuperOneClick, you will have to go back to using the link, so just start with that.

    Hmm, definitely good to know about z4root I originally used that to root and I've been rooted so long and love it so much I never bothered trying to unroot lol
