I see people who are rooted mentioned they run JIT
What is this? Same as SetCPU?
JIT = Just In Time. A setting that (I believe) Cyanogen first discovered for the Nexus 1 but has been somewhat ported over to the droid. It takes adb and a slight bit of effort to apply and has had VERY mixed results when applied. Some are just FCs, and crashes, some actually slowdown, some get a little faster, and some get a lot faster (40-50%)
It's just a search away!
I've played around with it quite a bit and it makes my droid, without regard to which rom I was using, test faster on most types of benchmark tests. I last enabled it on Bugless Beast V1.2 w/Chevy's 1.25ghz kernel. Prior to enabling it my Benchmark (the one that is inside Setcpu) was about 160-170 and my Linpack was 10mflops. After enabling JIT I tested at 120-140 and Linpack was 12.003. However, even though every thing would start off ok, after a day or so I would start getting FC's on various programs. I would disable JIT and the FC's would disappear. Also, I could not see any real world benefits. I saw no observable difference. So, I've given up on it for now. I will wait until someone makes it stable.
