The file manager that came with my cheapo LG K7 has zip capabilities. I'm willing to bet that most other Android file managers also do.

Since the OP has a Samsung phone, it's possible that her phone has a built in File Manager app (or My Files). Phones that run pure Android, like most new Moto phones (and probably Nexus phones), do not come with a built in file manager; you have to find one in the Play Store.

Ahhhhh. Ok so basically they are saying the do not want a bunch of attachments sent, just a bunch of attachments sent one time.

If your phone does not have zip file capability with the built in file manager, the app CJM posted should do what you need. I just used it to make a new folder on my phone (named it My Stuff) copied a few files into it. Then when you long press that folder there are options to zip it.

Yes. They want one folder, with all files inside it, zipped and then sent to them. That way they don't have to deal with multiple files and attachments.

No friends or family nearby that own a computer?

That might work. The app CJM posted will also do what you need, right on your phone.

If you downloaded the app CJM posted I would use it. It was very easy to use it to make a new folder, copy files into it, and then long press > make a zip.

Did you click the more button in my files? Or try long pressing on a file or folder?
Sorry, I'm not familiar with Samsungs software.
My LG file manager looks like this:
b91e8767d0ea54d25e1bc5251e446ea0.jpg

Then if i pull down the menu, i get this:
7f7c05420cb14d3abc5fd5b1e6a7a2f1.jpg

And if i long press a file or folder, i get no zip option, just this:
