What are the hardware differences between the Razr vs Maxx?

Is it just the battery? I recall a while ago when I first got into rooting that the slightest difference in hardware can make it or break it regarding rooting, so I'm just wondering if the battery is the only hardware difference?

From everything I've read/seen/experienced, the only difference is the battery.

I agree with jnt. Everything I have read seems to point to just the battery internally/hardware wise and the case size externally to accommodate the battery.

This is correct. They both run the same ROM, so they are essentially identical. The case is slightly larger (less pronounced bump at the top), the SD card/SIM door is slightly longer, and finally, the middle frame is slightly different to support the larger door. Other than those minor differences and the obvious difference of the larger battery, the two phones are really the same phone.
