Update HAS been released by Verizon. All areas do not get update concurrently.

PLUS... Motorola is working on their own update... totally separate from this one.

I know there are people claiming they have the update but I've seen no screen shots and no info from devs. Some could have it by accident though. if Verizon is releasing this update early accidentally then it would just be a replay of the razr Christmas update situation.

I heard from a confidential source that it will be out tomorrow for testing.

I'm not liking the fact that a downgrade isn't possible or there is no SBF/FXZ option for the flashing to stock. Once the update is applied.

Does this mean that the Komplete root method will not work once this update is applied since it requires downgrading? Thinking I better root this sucker now.

Moto did us the same way on the Droid X. The final GB update was irreversible. A good old thanks for buying our phone, now f you very much.

Ok, so am I hearing correctly that this new update won't be reversible? And another thing; Tooter if you don't mind, what state do you live in?

As of right now I've been told it's not. Then again a safestrap build will be out soon for people that like that sort of thing

I wouldn't mind not being able to go past JB. If Motorola hadn't included a root checker. It appears in the ##PROGRAM menu at the very bottom. Flashing back to ICS is the ONLY way to clear that check. Just unrooting and going to stock even with an SBF/FXZ won't do it. The update from ICS to JB seems to clear it. Which is key if the phone must go to VZW. Thing is this update will become the norm on replacement phones soon enough.

Does anyone know of a full SBF flash file to restore to stock? Can I revert to the current JB build?

Recently tried kachow's update method and got "update aborted" error. Is anyone having this issue? I downloaded the update from droidlife.com and copied it to the SD Card

@KaChow that's the method I used was to go through the recovery. When you copy the file to the SD card it must remain in the .zip correct?
