I have to send my phone back for replacement and I heard that something happens on the phone that alerts Verizon it had been rooted. Is there anyway to erase this evidence and hand them back a clean phone?

Also has anybody encountered problems turning back a phone that was once rooted?

Have not heard of a way to get rid of the tracker. It pops up in recovery.

They can always tell if it's been rooted. Many people have sent their phones back after returning from root with no problems. There have been a few that were denied insurance claims because of rooting, but i think that's pretty uncommon. Rooting is a little like going to Vegas...you pay your money and take your chances. I think the odds are a liitle more in your favor than Vegas though.

Anytime I had to send a phone back I restored it to stock via rsd. Never had one denied.

Just use Matt's utility to install JB, but don't go beyond step #1. I sent my Razr (speaker was loose) back no problem.
