Been trying to figure out a way to force a new IP address on my Droid to no avail. Wondering if anyone knows a way to make it happen - or an app that would help?

The easiest way is to move to another wireless router. The next thing to do is reset your DHCP lease. It is more contingent upon the router. The router will see your device and reserve (lease) the IP for your device. After 50% of the lease life it should try to renew the lease. If it cannot it will keep renewing the lease until it expires.

Do yu mean change the IP that your wireless router is sending to your Droid or do you mean the IP that your router uses facing the internet?

He's not talking about wireless so his router has nothing to do with it. He's talking about Verizon's 3G network.

Correct. Upon further thought, the way phones connect to the network is using their unique ID's kinda like network card MAC addresses. Methinks the only way to get a new address would be to change this - which would brick the phone.

There probably isn't really a good way to do this except pulling the battery in a busy area hoping your previous address gets reassigned.
