My S4 had a feature that if you waved your hand over the screen while it was "sleeping" it would stay asleep but show you the time and missed notifications. I can't find that feature on the 5. All I can find is a feature in the accessibility settings that if you wave your hand over it, it wakes the phone up to the lock screen. Is this feature gone?

Make sure you turned on air view and motions and gestures and all those features in your settings.

ACTUALLY,

Menu, settings, accessibility, dexterity and interaction and turn on AIR WAKE UP.

That is how you do it.

Yeah I had that on but it goes to the lock screen. On my S4 it just showed a black screen with the time and notifications

It doesn't go to the lock screen unless phone is locked. It does the same exact thing as pressing the the POWER button.

However, if you have it set to go to the LOCK SCREEN ever time you press the POWER button then it will.

I don't see how that is any different that the black screen with the time and notifications. You literally just have to set your lock screen to black and it will do just that.

There is a black background sized for a galaxy s5 attached. It will turn your lock screen into a black screen with the time notifications.

For the record activating this feature is retarded and it just wastes a ton of battery life so you can look like an idiot waiving your hand over your phone rather than pressing a button.

This was completely different on the S4. The note 3 has the same feature as the S4. The feature on the S4 didn't take up that much battery life and it didn't wake the phone up to the lock screen. The original feature was created to be able to check your phone without using up the battery. I used this at work because my hands are often very dirty while the phone sits on my work bench. No big deal. I use the new one just like I used to. I just wanted to see if I was missing something.
