Watching Youtube Videos? Quality?

Hi. I'm planning on upgrading my basic LG Chocolate 3 up to a smart phone. My top picks are the Fascinate and Droid X, and I'm leaning towards the Fascinate for now.

My questions are about YouTube. Are we able to watch YT videos out of the box, or would I have to wait for a future Android update?

If I can watch YT, do the videos load quickly in your opinion, and do they run smoothly? Do high-quality videos have a lot of slowdown?

Thanks in advance for any help, and I don't know too much about this technology so if the questions are basic.

It's out of the box, there's a pre-loaded app for it.

In an area with good 3G coverage, HQ YouTube videos begin to play with about 4 seconds of buffering. They play smooth, and look like you would expect them to look on a high resolution screen.
