Wake phone after notification?

Is there anyway to have the phone wake-up (turn screen on) automatically after a notification (SMS, email, task i.e.)?

Yea, I had actually thought of that, but I dont really want to install a seperate app for just text.

PopUp Notifier from the market works great. You can get a popup for any program that gives you a notification. SMS, games, Google voice, etc. It's very customizable. Wake screen, sounds, repeat, quiet time and themes.
