The yet to be released Continuum aka SCH-i400 will sport the 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, 336 MB of RAM, and Super AMOLED display as seen on the Fascinate.
The device will offer some new and exciting things though. First off there's the ticker display as it's called. The ticker display is another Super AMOLED strip and is continually updating with push updates from IM, email, SMS, Facebook, Twitter, and more. The ticker also displays the current time and weather when the phone’s main display is on. When notifications arrive, the ticker will illuminate, leaving the main screen off. It's also touch sensitive so you can swipe side to side and when you choose an update the main screens comes to life.
The next goodie may or may not prove to be such a great idea when it comes to battery life but the concept is pretty nifty. The device is equipped with a grip sensor. How this works is if you pick up the phone the ticker will immediately illuminate showing you a summary of your updates while leaving the main screen off. Hopefully this will be an option that you can easily turn-off to save a little bit of juice.
