I've noticed that the volume on my Gnex is very low even when turned up all the way. Is this normal? My Droid by comparison is very loud. I can barely here my phone ring at all when it is in my pocket.

Yeah, use the app volume+ till an OTA update fixes the issue.

Picking the right ring tones helps also, there is a big difference between the volume levels of certain tones, go figure?

I'm still thinking the developers tried softening the volumes to help in conserving the battery life of the Nexus, they just went too far.
