voice search problem.

I have a motorola droid x2 that i recently encountered a problem with. the voice search constantly pops up and interrupts everything. i tried updating the app and deleting all updates. neither one worked. so i tried to factory reset the phone and that did not work either. and now its still interrupting the phone. so i cant get through to activate the phone now

Wow.. first off welcome to the droid forums... hmmmm. I would try pulling the battery out for about 5 mins. . Then try putting it back in and see what happens.. but...

If voice search is popping up even before the device is set up again... sounds like a hardware issue.... he old is the device??? If its still under warranty, call vzw and ask for a replacement...

It could be your search button malfunctioning... see if the button is stuck pushed down ... it could have something in it... sweat, debris.. like finger oil buildup.... that would be covered under warranty..
