Go to the dialer. Dial ##program. It will ask for a code. Type six 0's. Then scroll and open test mode and click next step the bottom until you see the top box that has Evrc. Click it and pick the last option. Evrc-b. Done

The only thing to beware of when using EVRC-B is that not all cell sites support -B protocol yet. I think Verizon was supposed to have all their cites upgraded this year, but if you happen to roam on a non-Verizon system chances are -B won't be supported (and the call will fail).

The -B protocol shouldn't have a major impact on voice quality, but it should have better noise cancellation properties. The real advantage is to Verizon because -B allows them to reduce bitrates.

Unless you roam off Verizon's network it should be fine. Sometimes Verizon calls it the Extended Network and sometimes it's Roaming... either of them may not recognize the -B protocol.

Sprint and Verizon share a lot of towers and I don't think Sprint uses -B.
