ViewSonic, the popular monitor manufacturer in the PC world (among other things), just announced a very competitively priced Android tablet at CES. The new tablet will come stock with Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich, and retail for only $170 bucks. Here are some more specs:
  • 7-inch Screen
  • 1GHz single-core processor
  • 4GB of storage
  • HDMI-out
  • Front facing camera
If this tablet matches up to the quality of their monitors, they could have a pretty decent hit on their hands. You can read the full press release below:

Though nice, the specs aren't high enough for me. i know, I know, I want higher specs for a decent price, but to me, tablets will be used more to play games than a phone. I want the thing to handle what I play. I don't think it would keep up with several games out there plus more to come especially with games that are coming out for the Tegra platform.

I hope they support it better than they did the gTab. They basically put that piece of crap on the market, had a bunch of problems, dumped the rest through Woot, and slithered away.

Their customer service sucks big time! Having been stuck by them once, no way I would buy from them again!

That's stupid... ICS was the first OS to be synced perfectly with a dual core. But this tablet is only a single core processor which defeats the whole fact of ICS.
