Sooo... I tried to do a quick little search, but couldn't find it. I followed the video and link on the first video. Did the recovery thing, install update.zip, reboot. But... I don't have the SuperUser icon thingy... anywhere. Does that mean it didn't work... or what?

    Thanks.

Edit: Never mind. I followed a different set of instructions, at it worked perfectly. :) Now... to figure out what the hell I'm doing. Haha.

    I just downloaded ClockWorld Mod.

To be honest I just rooted tonight by following his steps, so I am pretty new to this if you will bear with me.

No big deal man. Just turn off your phone. Slide out the keyboard, Hold down the X button and hold down the power buttin till you see the "M". Let go of the power button and the X button. Let me know when the bootloader is up and running.

ok, tell me what you see. I use SP Recovery but they are basically doing the same thing. (I have a ClockWorld backup as well so don't fear)

I have a menu similar to the basic menu I have seen before.

    - reboot system now
    -apply sdcard
    -wipedata
    -wipe data partition
    -install update zip
    -nandroid
    -partitions menu
    -advanced

While I wait, as a tip, the power buttin will act as a way to go a folder up.

It will take a couple minutes. If you ever need to do an install from backup, goto nandroid, do an advanced recovery. Check the cache (unless you are just trying to go way back) and let it do it's thing.

Once the backup making or the backup install is complete. hit the power button and then do "reboot system now"
