In the lock screen, we have two options. Swipe right to unlock. Swipe left to turn off sound.

Is there any way to make it Vibrate when you swipe left, instead of Sound Off? If this option isn't available, is an app able to give this functionality?

If you want it to vibrate and turn the sound off, you can use the volume control. Just before the volume control goes to sound off, there is a position for sound off and vibratte on.

I know the volume rocker has vibrate. But the Lock Screen has a special "Sound Off" slider. Can this be changed to a Vibrate slider?
Also holding down the power button gives a "Sound Off" option, can this be changed to a Vibrate option?

No so far there is no option, i believe this to be a flaw. Reason being is that if you go into menu > settings > sounds... and turn it on silent from there it will go into vibrate if you have it checked. If you use it from the lock screen or the power button it doesn't seem to notice the vibrate check and will just send it right to purely silent.

I'm not even sure that Motorola/Google even thought about implementing vibrate in 2.0. Its notification bar icon is the only built-in one that isn't high-res. Wtf?

I just discovered by accidnet when receiving a call, if you press the volume button, it will silence the phone.

Yup, if you press the volume button one lower then vibrate it will put it in silent mode (which in my opinion shouldn't be like that)

Well I see your point, but I'm referring to receiving a call.

    Solution/Workaround

Go to the Market and check out "Silent Mode Jammer"

It will ensure that your phone will vibrate when silent mode is activated. Notification bar displays vibrate icon. Works on DROID. :)

You could also download Locale, which will allow you to set your phone on silence with vibration either during a specific time of day or based on your GPS location. I use it to automatically silence my phone while I'm on campus. So far, runs/works great and doesn't seem to drain my battery. Nice because it autolaunches in the background too, so you don't have to constantly start the app if your phone dies

I was hoping the December update would fix this, but this works just fine. Thanks!

Are you guys using silent mode jammer ex or normal? I've been using normal and it works great except when I silence it with the lockscreen the lockscreen will eventually go back to saying sound is on when its still on vibrate, other than that its flawless.

I'm using the normal one (didn't want to install the Apps Center since people had complaints). I have this same issue, though it isn't a big deal. I think it happens if I use the volume buttons after having set it on silence mode, but I am not sure. Just swipe twice to put it back to normal.
