I don't get close to 5gb even on my iPhone, mainly because I use WiFi whenever possible. I assume that this will be the same with the Droid. But 5gb is a lot of data for sure....

I've been really lame with my Storm since it's so cumbersome to use the browser and other items. The most I ever hit with it was just over 1Gb. With my Voyager, due to the amount of tv I watched on it, I regularly hit between 2-4 GB, depending on whether I was traveling for work and training or not. It really wasn't hard to do at all. That phone had me on the net all the time because it was such a 'dumb' phone and so easy to do what I wanted. I loved it, but alas, I had to try the God-Phone to give it a fair shake (but that's a whole 'nother story).

I thought T-Mo was the fastest when it came to data. maybe that has changed.

I think At&t is the fastest right now otherwise they might have trouble calling themselves that. Then again they do claim "More bars in more places" and anyone who has had them knows that isn't true. Although they never really say more that what. The full story could be "More bars in more places than The Bahrain Telephone Company had in 1978."

admin did you see at&t's real 3g coverage.. it's terrible. it really is the map that verizon shows. at&t just hides it behind smoke and mirrors so people don't get to see the real map, because if they saw the real map they might not sign up for their service.

I dont think coverage is the real issue - i mean who cares if there is 3g in montana - the issue is throughput and at the moment ATT have an issue with the number of iphone users.

Lets see if Verizon can handle the massive growth on their network over 2 years that Droid might bring.

We'll be watching.

In 2 years verizon should be mostly LTE 4G, I doubt they will have bandwidth issues :)

Sorry if i shouldn't post this here, but i thought it was a very interesting to see people make this mistake (seen it more then just this one instance). I debunked it like 2 seconds after he posted it but still interesting none the less.

to get the att map shown in commercial, click on the "mobile tv" link above the map on the att page.

verizon is comparing their 3g voice+data coverage to att's mobile tv coverage, in effort to make att's coverage look terrible, when in actuality, they are for all intents and purposes, the same. not an att fanboy (does such a thing exist?). just pointing out misinformation. i'd do the same thing to att if they tried such a stunt.

What you will notice on at&t's coverage is that if you zoom in even 1 zoom bar on their zoom function, it opens up their real 3g coverage area (which you have to enable). People seem to be misunderstanding the differences, because at&t wants people to think they are getting something much better then what they are.

When I had my stint with the Iphone a little while back, AT&T listed my area as 3G. Not even close... So I don't trust any part of their map.

Well they are saying the get on average between 3-6Mbps, which is not really close to true 4g speeds, but i would imagine they are the first to start the implementation of it's infrastructure to support. Even thought they say they have it.

Which is funny because that IS the map they have for 3g... so ATT is **** out of luck on that one.

Not only that, how many times do they say 3G coverage in it? Not voice coverage.. ATT is pissed because someone is showing them up and pointing out how shitty their network is.

agreed with New2. Verizon put the right map. Its not Verizon's fault that people don't understand that its the 3G map only.

It's just like ATT putting up their voice coverage and telling people that is there real coverage for data, but it's not, i think their just PISSED that someone pointed it out.
