Verizon Upgrade to Thunderbolt Question

My upgrade is the 28th, and I have the Thunderbolt pre-ordered at BestBuy.
They told me I will receive the phone on the 14th. (Don't debate, assume its right)

That puts my upgrade only 14 days away, but just out of reach on the buy back program.
Is there anything I can do to get that upgrade earlier?

Of course verizon is going to tell me I have to wait.
BB employee told me to say my current phone was broken, and because its within 14 days they should let me have the upgrade.
I really don't feel like coming up with a big story, so anybody got anything else?

I'd suggest calling CS and seeing if they'll let you upgrade the 14 days early. It's not out of the realm of possibility.

No need to make a some elaborate story. Just tell them you wanna upgrade to the TB.
