We have seen all these names before, but this time it’s official. Today Verizon Wireless announced that these following cities should see a brand new signal running through their air waves in less than 6 months. This release is in attempt to follow up with their plans to have the whole 3G nation upgraded by 2013, and for the time being 140 cities using the new speed by the end of this year.

Nevertheless, it’s nice to see all these names go on the list. Personally I appreciate that my summer home in Florida (Pensacola) and the airport in Mobile, Alabama is also getting the speed boost. Anyone else getting a New Year’s gift from Verizon?

Oh this is awesome! Now I know for sure that the hokie signal I have had occasionally is because they have been working the 4g in Clarksville and Nashville trying to get everything working right.

Really? Flint and Detroit MI? Way to pick the most burned out desolate wastelands in the whole state. Granted MI itself it pretty much a shell of its former self. But Verizon would have done FAR better to upgrade areas like Ann Arbor, Lansing, Grand Rapids, etc. You know, places where people actually live and work.

Wtf no cali, I guess they want the most populated areas to eagerly wait, that way when it finally arrives, it will boom. So for now we just hate on the ones who do have it.any news on the prices?

I don't believe this…*they're going to make places like DC, Baltimore and NY wait??? I'm just outside DC, but my bro in the middle-of-no-where NC at college will have 4G before. Are they doing it backwards or something? giving the not as populated areas 4G first to see how the network handles it, before releasing it to heavy metro areas?

Cleveland Tennessee gets the nod, but Cleveland Ohio doesn't???

>.<

This is the reason why Clevelanders have no idea what technology is! Everyone I know thinks I'm some technological wonderment, and genius level problem solving with computers. I'm pretty average I think for my age group. I'm about on par with most people reading this message. Nothing special, but because I'm in Cleveland, I'm the Jesus of computers.

Again...... >.<

Yea DC was one of the orig cities. Dont worry. And I think most of the DC Metro area: DC, MD, VA should get it at launch.

I thought the same thing when I read it and I don't even live anywhere Michigan. Don't you just love the ME, ME, ME attitude of so many? I'm not on either list either and, guess what, I will definitively live through it. Have a little patience.

Dude, chill out. He said those two cities are desolate wastelands, I didn't see anywhere that he said you and your family are worthless, YOU said that. And those two cities ARE desolate and you know it, otherwise you wouldn't have reacted the way you did......he hit a nerve. It wasn't ignorance, it was insensitivity.

lmao... I kind of remembered that, but didn't think about it... so this list is just an add on to the original list? or the original cities will get it, then this list?

This new one says less than 6 months. The cities in the original list are supposed to already have it, right?
